The Impact of Music for Social Change on Children

Through the Music for Social Change program, children are learning more than just songs — they are finding their voices and building confidence. Many of them have faced difficult experiences, but music gives them a safe space to express their feelings and connect with others.

Children who take part in the program feel happier, more confident, and less alone. They learn to work as a team, support each other, and share messages that matter — like peace, education, and hope. Some have even started writing their own songs and performing in their communities, which makes them proud and gives them a strong sense of purpose.

Teachers and parents have noticed positive changes too. Children become more active in school, improve their behavior, and show more respect and kindness to others. Music helps them feel strong inside, and that strength carries into other parts of their lives.

At Similar Ground, we’ve seen that music truly heals, connects, and inspires. With every song, dance, and beat, children are growing — not just as performers, but as leaders of change
